Baptism, the first sacrament in Church Universal and Triumphant, is a sacred step on the spiritual pathand a cleansing of the soul. In baptism we dedicate ourselves to the fulfillment of the will of God, the divine blueprint held in God’s heart for each life. The soul’s blueprint is the pattern given by God to the individual, who in the very beginning determined with God to realize this plan for his soul. Being “baptized into Christ” (Galatians 3:27) is a step toward integrating more fully with the Christ consciousness and the will of God. Baptism seals your soul and spiritual centers, or chakras. This enables you to integrate more fully with God’s will. Actually, there are not two wills—man’s will and God’s will—but only one will of truth and freedom. We follow the example of Jesus, who dedicated himself wholly to God’s will and was baptized at the beginning of his ministry: “Jesus went through this
ritual so that you could understand that this is not a mental exercise. Baptism is a symbolic and actual ritual of the cleansing of your being from karma, sin and every out-of- alignment state. You, working with the Holy Spirit, can receive a tremendous blessing through baptism,” explains Elizabeth Clare Prophet.

All that I AM is all that God has thought for you. You are all the beloved son. Jesus

Receiving the Blessings of Baptism

Your soul is cleansed, strengthened and protected by the shower of light released in baptism, and an angel or an ascended master comes forward to help you. You may ask an angel or ascended master of the same gender as your gender to sponsor you, and you may take his or her name as your spiritual middle name.

What Happens in Baptism?

In baptism you stand before the altar or bring your child there, usually in front of a congregation. A minister places rose petals and sprinkles water on your crown chakra. These rose petals represent the sweetness of your soul and the expansion of light and love in your heart and chakras. Water symbolizes God’s cleansing forgiveness. The minister invokes the baptismal blessing specifically for you.

The gentlest of touch is all that is required. . . .The name pronounced, given unto the angels, . . . will show that I have touched you this day and dedicated you to the will of God.

May I Be Baptized?

People of all ages may receive baptism. The vital qualification is that you—your soul and Higher Self—desire to rediscover, reaffirm and fulfill God’s will for your life. In the case of a baby, parents commit to helping the infant do this.
